Illustrated type illustration assignment

My first assignment was to create a full illustration with illustrated type! I was flaming and ready to go but everything I tried came out odd. In the end I came up with this piece... I'll be perfectly honest, I'm not certain I really fulfilled the brief. But I think the illustration came out well anyway!
