Monkey See, Monkey Do
A fantastic assignment in my illustration class, all based on famous styles of the past!
I am a huge fan of vintage art, so I was super excited for my for my first assignment in my illustration history class. I could either do a comparative paper on two different influential artists of the past or a comic. I, of course chose the comic, but upon discussing my sketches with my professor, he suggested I do two posters instead. So thats what I did!
For my two posters, I decided on Alphonse Mucha and Erté, two very influential artists from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Hope you enjoy!

I loved doing the poster for Alphonse Mucha, his style felt far closer to what I normally do so it was super easy to create something inspired by his work. Erté's work on the other hand, was far trickier. I'm not used to working very geometrically so it was a certainly a great challenge!
