This series was made for my final advanced illustration course and we were given the assignment to create three illustrations for a book - 2 one page pieces and 1 spread, each following either a narrative or theme of our choosing. I opted for the theme and I ended up with these!
When I was coming up with a concept for my three illustrations, I knew I wanted to do something inspired by the storybooks of the 1800’s and one of my favorite art movements, Art Nouveau. I love the sweeping, organic nature of the style and I wanted to explore it more through my borders and line work, as well as express themes of femininity, love and beauty.
